Miss Babs Yarn & Fiber Trunk Show September 6th & 7th

The Miss Babs Trunk Show is September 6th & 7th! Join us for lots of fun, yarn, fiber, and color!

What exactly is a trunk show?

While there are varying degrees of Trunk Shows, here's what's happening the weekend of the Miss Babs Trunk Show:

We will have loads and loads of Miss Babs yarns here at the store. Many of these yarns are only available through the Miss Babs website or at the various conventions and festivals she attends. Some of the yarns will be ones that we carry here at the store but in colors that we may not have had here at the store before. You'll also get to see items made up in the various yarns to inspire you.

The Miss Babs Trunk Show will begin on Friday September 6th at 2:00 and we are staying open late, until 8:00, just for the occasion. Saturday we are open our regular hours, 10:00-5:00.

A Likely Yarn & Craftsy Team Up!

We are excited to announce our affiliation with Craftsy!

A Likely Yarn tries to meet your class needs at our shop in Abingdon however: we know your schedule is busy and we can’t always offer what you want when you want it. Craftsy can! As an affiliate, when you join a Craftsy class through a link on our blog, website or other online information source you help yourself and help out your favorite local yarn shop. (We are assuming we are your favorite! hehe!)

By clicking on the Craftsy banner on our website, or any of the Craftsy links on this blog post, you'll be directed to many options for craft classes, not just knitting and crochet!  If you sign up for a Craftsy class, you'll have access to videos you can watch anywhere and at anytime from fantastic teachers and we'll get a little benefit from it.  It's a win-win for everyone!

Vote now for the Fall Knit Along

We need your help deciding which book to pick for our Fall Knit Along!

This year we would like to do a designer themed Knit-A-Long. Cast your vote for the book you want to knit a project from.

Little Red in the City by Ysolda Teague has many great sweaters, lots of info on fit and an opportunity to get our measurements down and create a sweater that fits our own body. A good read with lots of tips.

November Knits: Inspired Designs for Changing Seasons by Kate Gagnon Osborn and Courtney Kelley has lots of fall inspired knits. There are sweaters and accessories in this book so take your pick.

Knit with Me: A mother & daughter collection by Gudrun Johnston this delightful book has some very wearable patterns both sweaters and accessories.

Delita has a sweater or two she would knit from each of these books and you might find some as well. Please vote for your top two choices and the book with the most votes will provide the theme. All three books are available to browse and we will order copies for participants who don’t already have them in their library.

Votes will be counted on August 30th so cast your ballot during the month of August. The winning book will be announced on August 31st and a book order placed on September 5th. The knitting begins on September 12th from 5-7 or the 13th from 11-1
