A Finished Color Affection

We've had Color Affection-its this Autumn!  We started a knit along at the beginning of October and we're starting to see some of the finished Color Affection Shawls show up here at the shop.  Check out Cindy's finished Color Affection Shawl!

If you have made a Color Affection shawl, we'd love to see it!  There have been so many color combinations that we've yet to see two alike.

A Sad Farewell to Schaefer Yarn Company

We received word today that, after 33 years, Schaefer Yarn Company is closing.  We will miss the beautiful yarns Cheryl creates but we wish Cheryl the best in the future!

What we have in stock of Schaefer Nichole and Audrey is the last we will ever have from this company. We know that many of you are fans of these yarns and did not want you to miss out on the last of our stock.  We currently have seven colors of Nichole and four colors of Audrey.

The colors we have in Nichole are: Julia Morgan, The Brontes, Jane Austen, Wilma Mankiller, Elena Piscopia, Gertrude Elion, and Gloria Steinhem.

The colors we have in Audrey are: Irena Sendler, The Brontes, Renata Tebaldi, and Jane Austen.

Please give us a call (276-628-2143) or stop by the shop to see if the color you are seeking is still in stock.

Poncho Viva

Kristine just finished up a project in a yarn that is new to us, Gradient from Schoppel-Wolle who also make Zauberball.  Gradient is basically a thicker version of the much loved Zauberball.  We have Gradient in seven gorgeous colors.  Gradient is 100% virgin wool, single ply, worsted weight and comes in 100 gram balls.

The Poncho Viva pattern is from the One Skein Wonders 101 Yarn-Shop Favorites. Kristine made a few changes to the pattern.  She used two balls of Gradient, size 9 needles, and worked the stitch pattern six times instead of seven.
